Hole in the Wall (The Bunker) in Milton

After 2-3 months of tiresome, boring, research and work I finally put together and lodged a development application with Brisbane City Council to try to set up a hole in the wall cafe/outlet in Milton. 7xcopies of a 58 page report, a lot of forms and one whopping cheque got handed in begrudgingly by a now poverty stricken me. I should've tied it all up in red tape, but I'd dealt with enough preparing the report...

So, where is it? Well, it's a cement structure at the front of a residential property at 21 Railway Terrace, Milton. I live right near by the place and would often ride past there on my way somewhere, but a few of months ago only noticed for the first time what a cool space it was.

It sits at the front of the property facing the road and has a driveway leading to the rear of the property where the residents house is. Basically it's a 3x5m cement structure that has been totally overgrown in vines and bushes and, as it is near the train line, has been graffiti'd all over the interior.

Taking a punt I went to the house and got the owners details and gave him a call. Long story short, he was incredibly enthusiastic for the idea and has been super helpful ever since. Thanks heaps for that, if you read this ever.

So, a couple of months later and the Development Application is lodged. The whole process, including my reports etc are all viewable and publically available at brisbane.qld.gov.au > Planning and Building > PD Online > Application Search > 21 Railway Terrace, Milton.

As is the case with DA's like this, my answer as to whether I can go ahead with it or not is still a couple of months away. In the meantime, below are a few photos and a dodgy artists impression I made in photoshop to give you an idea of what to expect if I get the go ahead.
